Butterflies and Blossoms...

We went on an outing.
My knee scooter and a loaner wheelchair
were involved.
Fresh air does the body wonders.

I'm doing fine by the way. No more severe pain. Just weird "Frankenstein-like" pulling sensations from the sutures and screws in my left foot. I'm still not allowed to put any weight on my foot. Mobility is my biggest hurdle. You'd be amazed at what positions I can get my body into with that knee scooter!! I'll admit that after awhile though, the knee scooter hurts my lower back and knee. My foot and leg has also been swelling and my doctor was quick to remind me that I was suppose to be taking it easy. I'm not good at sitting still and this slowing down thing has been harder than I thought it would be.

Enough about me...

We visited the Butterfly Exhibit at Frederik Meijer Gardens. The temps inside were balmy and the butterflies were active. With such good lighting, our camera took some amazing shots.

The temps outside were a bit brisk,
but the blossoms were heavenly.

These two pictures are my favorites
from our outing.

These last 2 pictures were edited with PicMonkey.
I've had lots of time to compare
online photo editing software lately.
I'll save that for a future post.

XOXO

Such a lovely blog makeover beautiful photos to start the day, the lighting is perfect and you have captured the girls and nature so well.
I am so glad you are in less pain, I kind of figured you are not one who is good at slowing down :)

love the pics especially the first one of you and josie!
glad your foot pain is subsiding and that you are getting around. I got a giggle out of your email about going down the stairs on your butt! I would have done the same thing.
I hope you find something fun to do today! I'm sure you will.. but dont overdo...

Yes, I love those last two photos as well! I look forward to hearing what you've determined about photo editing. I've been hanging onto Picnik, and haven't tried anything else yet...!

Simply beautiful. I have some native butterfly weed in the garden and parsley for feeding them. I usually draw a few of those monarch caterpillars for the kids to enjoy each year. We have some Autumn Joy Sedum that draw the moths and a few other butterflies to feast on in the front. My kids just love these. Cheap entertainment. Your pictures are amazing. I can't wait to hear what you get into today....smiles..Renee

I bet it felt great to get out of the house and see some pretties! There's a butterfly festival nearby in late summer, and I always try to go. The flowers are beautiful and the butterflies are gorgeous!
I'll be interested in your post about online editing sites. Have you tried BeFunky? It's ok, but I just wish that Picnik would stick around. I hate change!

I am glad that you were able to get out for a while...and to such an interesting place. I know it seems like forever but soon you will be walking normally again without pain. Love, love, love the photos of the girls.

It looks like you had a ball. It is hard to be "quiet and restful" when you are used to being on the go, isn't it? I have issues with my ankle right now and I am finding it hard to stay still...ugh. Love those last two pictures of the girls. xo Diana

Kim, that is such a cute photo of you and Josie! I am glad to hear that you are doing better, except it sounds like you need to take it easy! I am not surprised, though, that you have a hard time sitting still. I have always been amazed by your infinite amounts of energy!

Hi Kim
glad to see that you are able to get out and about and do some fun things! Those photos are just amazing! You should make cards out of them! Be sure to keep that foot of yours elevated to take down the swelling:) And I will be interested to hear your thoughts on other photo editing programs. I tried that monkey one the other day. I still like Picnik best!

As enticing as it always sounds to relax and take it easy, it's really, really hard to sit around when you aren't used to that! Glad your scooter is getting you around some ... try to take it a little bit easy!

So many flowers in bloom! You have gotten me in the mood for Spring. Glad to see you will be weighing in on pic monkey soon. I am in the market for a photo editing site as my skills are improving beyond what iPhoto can do on my computer!

That looks like the perfect spring outing. I got a little queasy when you mentioned screws and sutures though. Glad you're feeling better now!
