Everything's coming up daisies...

Our yard is full of beautiful daisies right now.  Thank you, Chris.

Someday she won't let me dress her up for photo shoots.  7 is still a very accommodating age.

Although there aren't daisies in this floral patio umbrella, I have to squeeze in another estate sale find.  Chris came home with this patio umbrella for $3.  It was musty and full of mildew, but it was in great shape. After a good scrubbing with a brush and a solution of borax and hot water, it looks practically new.

I really should have taken a before picture. The wrestling I did to clean this umbrella was crazy.  I even soaked the umbrella in a plastic garbage can with borax over night so that yellow fringe would be white again.

The things we do to rescue estate sale finds!!  I can't wait for the work week to end and my chores are done around the house.  I'm hoping to squeeze in a bit more time in my craft room getting things organized for a photo shoot.   Have a glorious weekend.

You are lucky to have such a cute and willing subject to photograph - besides the daisies - love those! And wow -- that umbrella is amazing!! Sure beats the $52 I just spent on a new umbrella!!

Oh my goodness -- that umbrella is to die for and SO worth all of your efforts! They truly don't make them like that any more - the fringe is so cute and LOVE the pattern in the fabric!

Josie is a little cutie pie among the daisies! Your umbrella is so neat! I never knew that borax could get odors out. Good find!

Hi Kimmy!
Oh my gosh, the weather here is like an oven. I was just standing outside taking pictures and the sweat was just poring down the sides of my head.
Can't wait til the humidity subsides. Open up the front door and you get hit with a wall of it. Thick as peanut butter!
You're right about the things we do to restore old finds. It's so much more fun (and cheaper!) which makes it worth it.

The umbrella is really pretty. Good job on getting it clean. I found some dishes today that look a little like it. The pattern was "Forget me nots" from scandanvia. They were $12 for 14 pieces. Amazing. Smaller plates but beautiful and old.

I think I have that exact same umbrella (was on my last post). I love it. My fringe finally rotted out this year and I had to take it off. (I have had my umbrella probably 7 years or so..I think I paid $5 for mine) My yard is also full of daisies!

My heart just skipped a beat when I saw that umbrella. Memories came flooding back to sitting under my Aunt Clara's umbrella that was just like that one and eating cucumbers with salt and pepper. Hers was stuck into an old "spool" that the electric company had used for wire and she repurposed it into a table.

Great find! and what a cute Josie!

I hate my umbrella and the ones in the stores so much that I've decided that I should look for a vintage one. Yours is GORGEOUS! And there is just nothing like a big patch of daisies. Ours are starting to wind down, probably because of the total lack of rain and scorching temps!
Have a great weekend!

Love that umbrella! So wish there were things like that still available out here, but our sun (355 days worth)just burn everything up within a year or two, so I haven't seen a vintage umbrella since they were actually new or for over 40 years!

Hugs,
Meri
