During our grocery store run on Saturday, the girls helped me pick out pansies. Pansies are my bridge from winter to spring. They're the first flowers I can plant that I know will withstand freezing nights, cold snaps, a surprise frost, and a few snowflakes.
They also remind me of my Grandma Hurst who always planted loads of them around the front of her house.
My mother gave me a brown wooden wheelbarrow last fall and I honestly forgot about it until Chris was organizing the garage this past week.
I spent a few minutes searching Graphics Fairy and came across this beautiful image and I combined it with a French ledger sheet.
With a little mod podge and some protective spray finish, I now have a fun display for my new pansies.

The pansies are so pretty but I really love the old photo. Isn't it wonderful to know where are real 'roots' lie?
