Cocktails anyone?

While browsing my local Goodwill last week, I came across this case.

It was rather ugly looking from the outside, but when I opened it up, all its cocktail-making accessories were still inside.

We'll be traveling to Chicago to visit friends later this month and I decided to turn this $3.99 traveling cocktail case into a hostess gift. With a few images found online of vintage cocktail menus, I mod podged them onto the case and added some silver rik rack and other embellishments.

In case you're wondering, I found the cocktail napkins, peanuts, Tiki glasses. Mai Tai mix and Hawaiian soda at World Market. I could spend hours in that store!!

Other thrifting goodies this week include a fabulous 1932 Peter Rabbit book (I'm totally in love with the illustrations by Nina Jordan), cupcake picks and two sweet greeting cards.

XOXO

You did an amazing transformation!

GIVE ME RED RIBBON

Give me red ribbon to tie in my hair,
Not yellow or purple or green;
But burgundy, chestnut, carmine or rose—
These are the colors with sheen!

Give me red ribbon to tie in my hair,
Not saffron or opal or blue;
But fuchsia, magenta, ruby or blush—
Something of sanguinous hue!

Give me red ribbon to tie in my hair,
Not indigo, azure or grey;
But scarlet, vermilion, dahlia or pink—
Colors like these make my day!

That dog Thank You card looks really familiar to me. Maybe I have one stashed away some where. Great finds at the GW.

Adorable! What a sweet gift. I have a similar case I picked up at a garage sale for a few dollars some time ago. I was going to pass it on to Goodwill but now.... well, you've inspired me!
