Summer traditions...

One of our favorite family traditions in the summer is riding our bikes to a local ice cream stand.

My Cranbrook Huffy isn't going to win any speed racing awards, but I love it's mint green paint and vintage feel. Chris bought it for me last year for my birthday from here. You'd be amazed at what all I can fit into my bike basket!

The business district near our home isn't all that pretty (it's honestly quite ugly) but there is a charming ice cream stand named the Ice Cream Garage that the girls love to have us visit on our bikes.

The murals are half the fun of visiting.

Are you enjoying lots of family traditions this summer?

XOXO

I wonder if your ice cream place makes Boston Coolers...? I have been craving one and finally bought some Vernors (Ginger Ale) and asked a local place to make me one. Of course, I could make my own at home but then it would be too easy to have one whenever I had a craving so I am resisting...
Our summer tradition is going to a local pizza parlor for 'Classic Car Night' on Tuesdays. Love their Italian salad and thin crust pizza! Last night we opted to stay home and stay cool. Hope this heat leaves us soon!

Fun -- love bike riding! Been so beastly hot lately that we haven't been on the bicycles much -- hoping for cooler weather and more bike rides!

Hope you have a great day!

What a fabulous bike! I especially love the basket!

What a cute ice cream store too. We have a neighborhood Dairy Sweet that we go to during the summer, however, we haven't gone much this year.

Logan would love that ice cream place because of those walls. He is all about Cars right now. I love your bike.

What a great bike, Kim! The color is perfect, and you have to love a bike basket:) I also love the vintage Mackinac Island postcard on your header! That was a lucky find:)
Sounds like bike rides and ice cream are a wonderful family tradition!

Oh...that is just the kind of bicycle that I have been looking for! Now I know where to get one, but where did you get the basket? I would definately need a basket. Thanks!

Looks like a fun place to ride the bikes to! And cold icecream is a must after any exertion in this heat!
