Sweet Christmas Images for Crafting!

At my first Christmas in 1968, I received this special card from my mother's Aunt Edna.

I thought you might enjoy the graphics as much as I do.

The walnut baby bassinet that you see featured with the card, is an ornament that my mother made years ago.

I'm hoping to do something similar for my girls.

If I'm successful, I promise to post a tutorial.

XOXO

Sweet card. I know I have saved old cards...just where, I do not know. You must be organized!
Love the baby in a walnut shell. You can do that-can't wait to see what you come up with!
Sending good thoughts and prayers...along with a hug!
PS I finally started packing away Halloween today....sigh.

I have a similar walnut shell ornament, but mine is a little picnic basket. It hung on my grandparents tree and I got it after they passed away. It is going on at least 50 years old and I love hanging it each year.

What a sweet image. I cannot believe you still have it. We did those little walnut ornaments one year at church. Best of luck with them...the girls will love it. Smiles...Renee

That baby in the walnut crib your mom made is priceless and precious! My parents used to put little prizes in walnut shells when we were very young.
I am only three years older than you dear friend!
Prayers for your family!

Love the angel watching over the baby in the cradle. The little dolly walnut cradle ornament is similar to one my sister made several years ago... only instead of a baby, hers held a tiny little mousie. I'll have to take a picture of it after I unpack it and hang it on the tree.

What a dear card and to think that you saved it all of these years.

I finished up my decorating today, now I can relax and enjoy.

So cute. I always made walnut ornaments with fimo clay as the little doll or animal in a blanket, but I want to try it with fabric - I have walnut shells all ready from T-giving.

As others mentioned, your ability to organize and find things when you want them is a gift that mystifies me. Centuries ago, when I was in Girl Scouts we crafted a Nativity Scene in a dried milkweed pod with generous amounts of glitter. I LOVED that ornament, sadly, now long gone.

LOVE that card!!! Sooooo adorable!!

Your little walnut baby reminds me of something my mom made when we were little. Only, instead of a baby, she made a little mouse head. Ah, the memories!

That baby in the walnut shell is adorable. I can vaguely remember doing a Christmas ornament with a walnut shell when I was little, but I don't remember what it was. Definitely not a bassinet though.
