Back on this post, I shared the "free" wooden structure that found its way into the back of Chris's car.
As part of my birthday present, Chris gave it a makeover for our toadstool garden .
Using supplies left-over from his tree house project, he and Josie shingled the little gnome house to match the tree house.
My mother painted this toadstool sign as part of my birthday present.
Here is a view the little house at dusk when the Christmas lights are turned on.
Christmas lights are also tucked inside the gnome house.
I found the miniature white picket fence Sunday at the Allegan Antique market.
Josie helped me plant a few impatiens.
She and I also created the pea gravel walking path around the perimeter of the house.
I especially love my toadstool window boxes.
Mischief and merriment awaits! Josie and I think we should write stories about our special gnomes and their woodland adventures this summer.
Thank you, family...especially my handy husband.
PS. I'm tempted to sneak a "before" and "after" picture into the mysterious neighbor's mailbox who left the "free" structure on the side of the road.

You should definitely leave a before / after photo for the neighbour, I love trash to treasure stories and this is a magical one!! Your gnome house is wonderful, so magical with the lights, what an escape. So precious!
Adorable creating . . . a great team indeed . . .
omgosh! how stinking cute it turned out. and yes, I think you should leave pictures for the person who was throwing it out. you know what they say, one persons trash is anothers treasure! I do love those little mushrooms. out of drawer pulls? I might have to borrow that idea for my fairy garden. Oh what a wonderful world we live in.. gnome homes, toadstool gardens, fairy gardens.. what could be better?? ( hmmm the beach and ocean comes to mind.. but we wont think about that! LOL!)
have a great week Kim!
xoxo
A-freakin'-adorable! Love it! I'm going to have to send a link over to my sister and niece- they'll love it!! I'll try to get a post in today to show my birthday presents- you'll love them!
Just adorable~love it!
Is it behind your treehouse, in the woods?
You always inspire me-now where can I find another roof structure...lol

Too cute!!! I think writing about about the gnomes that will visit your house this summer is perfect! You may need share them once a week or so to keep blogland update on the happenings! What are the dims on the house? Just curious :)
Oh you should definitely sneak a piccy into their mailbox (right after the mailman of course). We have a bulk trash pickup every month at our curb and have found many wondrous things there. Once I found a little broken footstool, with a needlepoint top, and brought it home. I fixed the broken leg and recovered the shabby top with new cream upholstery. I then placed it by their front door with a note that said "what was once old and broken, is now new and ready for it's second life." I didn't see it on the curb again, so I gathered that they kept it.
Hugs,
Meri

Well now that is one of the cutest demo-renos that I have ever seen! I honestly think you just had extra doll house adorables that needed a cabin style home but it appears there is a chandy in that Gnome Home! You have done it again and we're all jealous!

That's just remarkable! I love the story idea - when my daughter was in 3rd grade we wrote stories to each other in a journal (mostly about our cats) - it's the sweetest thing, and such a great record of a part of her childhood.
How cute! Your hubby definitely worked some fairy magic! Have fun!
Oh my, that is one of the cutest things ever!
Kim, that is just perfect!!! It goes so well with the treehouse and I cannot believe it started out as a roadside rescue.
