Does shopping count as exercise???

My mother, sister and myself hit all our favorite antique & estate stores today. I'm not showing off my purchases because I have a few tricks up my sleeve for future craft projects, but let's just say it was a successful day.

While I was gone, Chris constructed a deck for Emma's American girl dolls with leftover materials.

All in all, a good day of shopping and walking. Is it really almost Thursday? I knew this would happen with spring break. Next stop...family road trip!!

Blame it on the rain...

Knowing that thunderstorms were predicted for Tuesday and neither of us wanted to haul wet mulch, Chris and I had the nursery deliver the other 8 yards yesterday.

This means that we got 15 yards of mulch laid in less than 12 hours. Neither of us can walk upright today, but it's all done.

They weather predictions were accurate. We certainly got lots of rain. Unfortunately, this means lots of mosquitoes later. Those pesky bugs are the enemy with our poor Josie. She has such a terrible reaction to mosquito bites...sigh.

Today has been the perfect day to be curled up inside with my glue gun!! When we leave later this week to visit our friends, we'll be bringing an early birthday present for their daughter. I decided she needed a fairy house. The variations on these houses are endless.

I took apart the leaves from a silk flower arrangement and used my glue gun to attach the leaves and flower blossoms to the roof. I also used them to frame shutters around the windows.

I hope she enjoys it. Tomorrow is my day of thrifting & antiquing with my mom and sister. I can hardly contain myself!!

What does 15 yards look like?

This was delivered to our house today.

It's only HALF. The other 8 yards comes tomorrow...along with thunder storms.

I'll be hauling mulch the next 2 days, but I'm certainly not spending my week away from work doing lots of physical labor.

I'm planning doing a little bit of this with my mom and my sister....

a little bit of that with my two special girls...

enjoying lots of this with my sweet husband...

and even sneaking in a family road trip later this week to visit some very special friends.

I love spring break!! And I have a feeling it's going to speed right by.

Easter at our house...

Just a few shots of what you would have found at my house if you would have been with us today for Easter...

I hope you had a glorious Easter.

Easter Blessings...

We traveled to Ann Arbor Friday where Nana was transferred to a rehabilitation center.

Chris's mom is definitely making progress. She'll be at the center to receive the physical and occupational therapy necessary to get her home again. We continue to have faith in her healing. She's one tough lady. We love you, Nana.

After Easter mass, we'll be heading to my parents home for dinner and an egg hunt. Being that I'm all about sugar lately, I've volunteered to bring dessert.

lamb sponge cake

toadstool cupcakes

and a few special candies in my candy cups

Just look at the chocolate ladybugs I found. For my adoptive China friends, you'll understand my excitement.

Josie will be getting one of my doll houses in her basket.

I've had fun making my little wooden bead dolls to take up residence in it.

Sorry. I can't show you Emma's Easter basket goodies.
She peaks at my blog.

May the glory
and the promise
of this joyous time of year
Bring peace
and happiness to you
and those you hold most dear.

Happy Easter, friends & family!
