Renee...you'll notice that your apron came in handy when decorating the tree.
You can find wonderful templates and instructions for folding your paper snowflakes here at Vintage Junky. The hardest part of this craft is taking the time to fold the paper into the proper triangle shape.
This was the first year that Josie was able to cut through the folded paper on her own (or with a bit less assistance from Mom or Dad).
We're quite proud of our snowflakes and they are now taking center stage around our fireplace.
The fireplace mantle is covered with lots of white felt, lights, icicles and my snowman collection.
The chances of having a white Christmas are looking pretty slim for West MI, but at least we can enjoy our snow indoors!
Christmas hugs!

good morning Kim! wow! thats a big tree. we have not gotten a live tree for two years now, since my grandmothers parrot has come to live with us and takes up the space where we always put our trees. I wouldnt be able to fit one as big as you. I think my ceiling is only 9 feet high!
but your tree is gorgeous. And I love that you all make paper snowflakes together. I have to admit at holiday times, I miss having my kids be little!
gotta work today.. then 4 days off to enjoy the holiday. It'll be a great weekend... and still no baby yet. she has a pre op appt this today. soon!
have a great day!

Looks like you're giving Santa PLENTY of room to fill up under the tree! Your kitty is so precious, and Josie looks adorable in her apron. Another happy visit to your place!
Enormous tree, and so beautifully decorated by all of you - very fitting references to Buddy the Elf - recall the tree he tried to fit into the NYC condo!
That apron looks darling on Josie.
That is one huge tree! I haven't made paper snowflakes since grade school. How fun!
wow! What a tree! I can't tell if it's real or fake, but it it's fake, you must have a lot of storage space! We have enough trouble trying to store our 9 foot one, along with my tons of Christmas decor!
This is the first year my boys have been able to cut their own snowflakes, too, so our family room window if full of them!
Wow -- gorgeous tree and snowflakes! So pretty!!
Merry Christmas!

Another terrific family tradition! Love the snowflakes. Missing home and our own tree but being with family is making up for it.
Enjoy your day!
Man, that is a huge tree, but it looks like everyone was having fun decorating it!
What an amazing tree! You are lucky to have a place to put such a big one...and it looks spectacular I love your 'snowflake' tradition ~ what fun!
Merry Christmas
What a ginormous and beautiful tree!
Love Josie's outfit. Perfect for trimming the tree!
Paper snowflakes are how we met (in blog land that is).
Your tree looks so pretty and I love the snowflakes!!! Have a Merry Christmas!
Your tree looks beautiful. Love all the wonderful snowflakes. It looks like we will not be having a white Christmas here in OH either.
Woweee, Kim! You weren't joking when you said that you had a huge tree! It is gorgeous, not to mention mammoth!! That is so neat that everyone gets into the decorating spirit at your house (love the penguin hats!). Luna is just adorable, reminds me of a gray kitty I had many years ago. And i love your vintage snowman holding the wreath, I think that is my favorite! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
Oh my goodness. You didn't tell me it was real! Amazingly gorgeous and I bet the smell is even better. I am thinking that we might need to do this next year maybe on the smaller size. I dare not show Michael or he will have to follow Chris. Knowing the possibilities. We are still working on our puzzle and watching Christmas Movies too. Love those snowflakes....Merry Christmas...Renee
What a wonderful "trip" to your house to see your tree! It appears that everyone is having a grand time! Merry Christmas!
that tree is big, beautiful, and bedazzled (gracie's words). well done, my friend. and how sweet are all of the snowflakes? we love elf over here, too. but combining it with a snowflake party, brilliant.
thanks for all of the inspiration, kim.

That is the biggest tree I have ever seen inside of someones home. WOW!! How many lights did it take? Our tree is only 8 feet and it took every bit of 1,000 to fill!
