Whenever I'm antiquing with my mom and sister at the Allegan Antique market, I keep my eyes open for these delicate treasures. Today is our last day of Christmas break and we'll be taking down our larger-than-life living room tree. While a snowstorm was brewing yesterday, the sunroom tree was transformed into our Chinese New Year tree.
To honor the "Year of the Dragon", the tree topper has several dragon heads (purchased from Party City) poking out of the top.
The little red shoes were purchased while we were in China and were originally worn by Josie. The glass red lantern ornament was from Hobby Lobby two years ago.
Other ornaments include lots of red envelopes and figurines purchased from World Market, Pearl River and other assorted stores.
I've said this before, but of all the trees, that I display in the sunroom, I think the CNY tree is my favorite.

Hugs,
pretty tree!
What a neat post! Excellent Chinese New Year tree! I'm reminded of a few times I would try to do some things for Chinese New Year when our girls were still home.
Our weather has become much colder, and there has been mention of a slight possibility of some flurries here. We actually rarely have snow.
Thank you for commenting on my little blog.:-)
Those little lantern bulbs are precious. Love the tree. I am trying so hard to find something to be snarky about but your blog is always so charming it actually makes me all nice and sweet. I hate that.
Absolutely. My favorite. Something about the colors and geometric shapes. Unpredictable and over the top. Happy New Year to all.
Love this tree Kim! Happy Chinese New Year!
Hugs,
Debbie
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! Your CNY tree is my favorite, too, but I know I am biased toward anything from China. :) I miss those sweet first days in China with a new family member. Such great memories. :)
Your CNY tree is one of my favorites to look at too :) And I ahve to tell you....that meal from your previous post has me craving it all like a CRAZY person!
Absolutely GORGEOUS tree and family photo. I love every single photo in this post and those special bulbs are absolutely perfect, I am so glad you are the family who found them.
Your CNY tree is just spectacular, and it's no surprise that it would be your favorite! Although I don't think I've ever seen any bulbs like that, I'll definitely keep an eye out for them from now on for you!
Happy New Year!
