Her school is having a Chinese New Year dinner and party at our local Public Museum on February 2nd. As you can imagine, we're very excited to participate. Speaking of Chinese New Year, we also worked on another Chinese New Year craft.
We made a "Year of the Snake" wreath using a plastic snake from the Dollar Tree.
Because everything is better with glitter, Josie brushed on some white glue and sprinkled fine gold glitter to her snake before I hot glued him to the wreath.
By the way, the wreath was 50% off at Dollar Tree - it was part of their former Christmas stash.
Happy "Year of the Snake"!

OMGosh Kim, you guys are just the crafting queens! That wreath is gorgeous and Josie is just cuter than ever, especially with her missing teeth! Do you speak Mandarin Chinese?
Hugs,
Meri

Hi Kim! I just featured this on my author page. Thank you for another adorable project!
That is so cool!! She takes after her most talented and crafty Mom!

Love the craft idea! I will have to go to the Dollar Tree to see if I will have success. Josie is so adorable!
What a great CNY craft!!!! My 6 yr old and I will be making one for sure!!!
Happy Josie . . . she cheers me up. And Happy Chinese Year of the Snake . . .
The wreath is very cute. I'm not sure I love the year being a snake year though (they aren't my favorite things in the world). I think that's great that she's learning Chinese!!! How fun!
That is such a cute wreath! I love that you have enrolled her in a language class. The earlier the better. How much of it does she remember from her early years? (How old was she when you brought her home?)
She is so cute, Kim...and I just adore that little missing tooth smile! What fun to bein Chinese school- xo Diana
What a cool wreath! Great work...Glitter on girl!
Kim, You tell Josie I wish I was young enough to learn Chinese!
I was contacted today by a mother of two adopted girls from China who asked me to make her a New Year's character. It so warmed my heart, I can't wait to send it to her. I don't know if I have told you my daughter plans to adopt from China when she is ready to begin a family. I truly hope her dream will come true! Have a lovely week. Elizabeth
You get an A+ for thinking to sign Josie up for Chinese classes. What a great age to learn and so fun for her to learn even more about the culture. I'm glad you liked my icebox cake post. I'm glad to hear it was a special memory of your Aunt. I have finally hauled the dollhouse into my craft room and I'm tackling the wallpaper and floor (paper). I feel like a kid again! Have a great week. Tricia
Holy cow! You gals have been sooo busy! Love, love, love the glitter snakes!
Hope you have a great week!
Josie's wreath is so adorable!! What a neat opportunity for her to start Chinese language school! Such crafty talent she has!! xo Heather
Kim,
Playing catch up again...
Josie is just the sweetest little girl!!
Hugs,
Deb
That little snake wreath is almost as cute as that sweet little Josie! What a great idea taking Chinese language classes. I took Spanish in high school and the only thing I can remember how to say is 'Where is the door" and "There is a frog". Both extremely useful! LOL!
Oh, little Miss Josie is adorable!
The wreath is really cute. Josie looks like she's having a blast!
Hi Kim, I just wanted to tell you about the cute lunar new year placemats at Pottery Barn Kids! They had a really nice display at my local PBK and I thought of you. Hope you are having a great day.
