A stroll in the woods...

It's been so unseasonable warm in West MI. Without snow covering our ground, my husband took a stroll into the woods behind our house and shot some amazing pictures of the current landscape.

Riverbirch

I love all the textures in this photo.

This frog statue is in our shade garden bird bath.
Note his green moss chest hair.

My husband enjoys playing with landscaping as much as I enjoy playing in my craftroom. He put together these urns from our leftover Christmas greenery and bits of dried plants from our yard.

Rumor has it that a winter storm is finally going to arrive later this week. I think we're ready.

XOXO

We would get along swimmingly. I have an entire file of landscape photos. My husband loves to take photos like this too. Every once in awhile I have to remind him that I am the one with the Horticulture degree not him! Smiles....Renee

Hi Kim,
those pictures are just beautiful and the urns are amazing!! You guys sure are talented! I am so ready for some winter too! I wish it would just feel like winter for a day or so! We have had such mild temps I am afraid the flowers are
going to bloom too early!
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Lynn

Great photos! Almost make me want to go on a walk in our woods....almost.
Love the sunshine and will soaking it in until Thursday when our early spring will leave us.
Starting to look like Valentine's Day here. Like your wreath!
Have a great day!

Really good photos!
I think Mr. Frog seems just a bit more manly with that green hair.
What a great landscaper and florist your husband is!

Kim,
I love those pictures. He did a great job. I have a few I have taken while strolling around the yard and garden, but they are not nearly the quality of those!
I am also wondering what happened to winter here in Wisconsin. I don't believe we have even received any more than 1/4" total snow for the season so far. I believe we are supposed to get to 50 something today or tomorrow, and then a big temperature drop and supposedly an inch of snow? This is really strange for us. I haven't made chili once yet this winter, no snow and below zero wind chills to motivate me. Well, I should shut up because you know what they say, be careful what you wish for. I can live without the bitter cold, but I do miss a little snow . . .
Happy new year my friend,
Hugs,
Julie

I know! isnt the weather strange this year!? no snow here either.. sooooo unusual. not complaining.. as I really hate the stuff.. but Im a bit worried about how this might effect the farmers and my summer! lol!
they are calling for some snow here this week, but nothing substantial I guess.

Hi Kim! It must be so neat to have those beautiful woods nearby! I love the "chest hair" on the frog!

The textures of the forest wood have been captured beautifully. Your spot reminds me of my childhood home - I grew up with a wood & creek behind, such a fun and magical space which I will never forget. We have also experienced a mild winter - no sledding, nothing like my childhood. Chris working on the baskets/urns reminds me that I must do something with mine, great idea reusing the greenery, my DIY for this weekend.

How nice to take a walk in the woods, especially in winter! We're having quite warm weather here in CA and I'm sure enjoying it!
