Chinese Checkers...New Thrifty Finds!

When I attended the Allegan Antique market last month, I managed to find a couple of Chinese checkers to add to my craft room collection. For me, it's the price and the graphics that are key. I don't normally spend more than $10 on a board. Most of them, I have found between $5 and $7.50.

This one still had its original box.

This one has built-in storage for its marbles by sliding a metal lever.

I'm afraid, I'm starting to run out of wall space for my collection.

Love those checker boards! Maybe you will have extend the collection to the rest of the house? I still have not found a board, it certainly is a fun hunt. What would you say is the range you spend on a board?

First of all the blog header is gorgeous...that first chinese checker board is amazing with its graphics. I can vividly remember playing this and the sound of the marbles hitting the tin. Your collection is fantastic. Marveling at the colors. Have a great week!

I have a couple older boards and the graphics on them just crack me up - someone had a good time when they designed them. :-) I would love to have an entire wall completely covered with them just for fun.

Kim, I love all the colorful designs on your chinese checkers boards! What a fun collection!! I have a few game boards too, and one of these days I need to do a post on them. Most of mine are wood though, so they would not create the same type of "wowsie" effect in a display.

What a fun collection! The Chinese checker boards look great with the china dresses, lanterns and fans! I just love using China finds in my home for decoration, too!

I love your wall filled with games and interesting pieces! We had a big family room in our last house and I had wanted to put up games on the wall! I think it's a great idea and something you can still find! ♥

I had no idea they were still so reasonable. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

I haven't played Chinese checkers for, oh, at least a thousand years. Thanks for the memories!

ENAMORED OF RED

Enamored of red
I lie in my bed,
Dreaming of cherry-filled crèmes;

For red’s a fine shade,
The prettiest made,
And gives me the sweetest of dreams.

That is adorable!! What a great idea to display them on the wall instead of keeping them stored in a box!

I have played this game over the years, but our board did not look like this. Very nice find.

I was so excited when I found my first and only game at a garage sale a couple of years ago! I love the graphics on these, and you have a really nice collection. Love your new blog header too!

Otherwise, you’re giving a speech. Utilising everyone's favourite must-have application Facebook is fring's next trick, and although it does appear as if it has been added almost as an afterthought (requiring the same method of Select and Subscribe as MSN chat, Skype and everything else)
it is nevertheless a capable and useful mobile Facebook interface.
There just can not be two opinions about it that Samsung is is one of the pioneers in the mobile phones markets.
