Holiday Craft Series Project 3

Project number three requires plain white Christmas ornaments (available everywhere), scissors, glue, a brush for spreading the glue, fine white glitter, and ladybug tissue paper (or any other festive tissue paper).

My blogging friend Nikki sent me a care package when we were waiting for our LOA last December. The gifts were a set of cute panda bear ornaments and a hand-made alphabet bible verse book with Josie's name on the cover. Both gifts were wrapped in ladybug tissue paper and I was determined to find a use for this adorable wrapping paper. Nikki found her ladybug wrapping paper at Family Dollar Stores. I was also able to get my hands on several packages of the same tissue paper at our own Family Dollar Stores in West Michigan.

Step 1. Cut out the ladybugs (or other decorations) from the tissue paper and set aside.

Step 2. Pour the glue into a bowl and using a brush, spread the glue on the ornament.

Step 3. Place the tissue paper ladybug over the glue area. Make sure all the edges are glued down.

Step 4. Place several ladybugs strategically on the ornament and allow to dry.

Step 5. Cover the entire ornament with a thin layer of glue (using the brush) and sprinkle fine glitter over the entire ornament.

Step 6. Hang your ornament to dry. Allow at least 6-8 hours of drying time.

Stay tuned for more Chinese-themed holiday craft projects. My next post will be Saturday morning. I'd love to hear from any of you who are doing fun holiday craft projects. I'd be happy to link to your blog. I have to give a big shout-out to my friend Shanna whose family has been busy doing my craft projects. Click here to check out her kids button and bottle brush trees. They turned out super cute.

Happy Crafting!

Looks familiar! I love it! You may just inspire me to try another project this year! I love my ornaments, now I need to see if I can find some of that tissue paper!

Oh, by the way, please tell Chris that Roger is experimenting with the video camera tonight. And, he's being challenged! THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION! I'm glad he's testing it all out now! We got the camera two years ago, and haven't used it since. One of the many challenges we need to handle before the trip!

Thanks again for all of your advice and inspiration.

Thanks for the neat craft ideas - Maddie and I are going to make button trees this weekend for my mom and a few others for Xmas - I love these!!!!

Hope all is well with you - thanks for all the well wishes on my carepage - it's been a rough few months but will be worth it in the end! You need to get a facebook page - I have found lots of people from high school on there - not many of us have changed - we all look good for being the big 40 this year!!!

Ok, where on earth do you find the time for all these wonderful crafts??? I love doing crafts, but I just can't seem to make the time for it... then again, with two boys at home (3 if you count my husband), we really don't do all that much crafty stuff... just Star Wars Lightsaber battles. Hopefully that'll start changing now that Katelyn is home!!!

Love this craft -- we're going to try it soon!

You have so much creativity -- and where do you get the time? I'm still trying to get decorations up, and we haven't even bought our tree yet! Aargh!

Looking forward to Saturday's festivities, though (Sunday, too!).

Those are beautiful.
Hey, does a garage sale count as a Holdiay Craft Project? ;)
That's what I'll be up to this weekend, making money for our WDW trip next week.
