X-Rays & Cooking

Josie saw her hand surgeon today and her cast and pin will officially come off on January 19, 2009 at 2:50pm. We all can't wait. I brought the camera to the surgeon's office and took a few pictures of her x-rays. I've got to be be honest, the pin sticking out of her thumb still freaks me out. The doctor agreed that keeping her cast and hand covered with a long decorative sock is a great idea.

In cooking news, Chris put his culinary skills to good use yesterday and made his grandmother's homemade chicken soup (complete with drop noodles). This is the first time that Emma assisted Daddy in the soup making and the Mom totally appreciated a night off from cooking duty.

Even Josie used her new kitchen to assist during the cooking process.

It's been a great Christmas break full of adjustments, and we are thoroughly enjoying the slower pace.

I'm so glad everything went as you were hoping. That cast and pin will be gone before you know it!
Homemade chicken soup sounds great! I just noticed that our girls got the same kitchen for Christmas!
Again, glad everything went well.
Love,
Robin

The X-rays are facinating. I'm glad the doc gave you a date to look forward to! I will be counting down the days with you :)
Kudos to Chris and Emma for giving you a kitchen break. I'd love the recipe for Chicken and drop noodle soup. That is, if grandma and Chris don't mind sharing :)
Big hugs~

Kim,
I am so sorry I am just now leaving you a message. Things in the Whaley household have been interesting in the past two weeks (a sick computer and a sick mommy) Anyway, I am so happy that Josie's surgery went well. No things are not always rosie at our house, either! We are seeing some major meltdowns at our house, too. I am sure Josie's temper will even out after all the healing is complete. Our little Tori must be stepping into that terrible twos phase! Let's just pray that God will give them both peace and comfort!

I tried the China girl ball ornament craft--They turned out pretty good, but not as pretty as yours and Emma's. I plan to make some more before the end of Christmas break for our Chinese New Year tree.

I wish you, Chris, Emma, and Josie a wonderfully Blessed and Happy New Year!

Cindy

P.S. I see that Emma is an American Girls fan. Tori is becoming one, too. Don't you just love them!?!
