Christmas snippets

It might not look like Christmas outside, but the inside of our house is in full holiday swing.
Estate sales have been good to me this year for my putz houses and Gurley candle collections.

The choir boys are back making their annual appearance.

I've also got extension cords everywhere with my ever-growing blowmold collection.

I've also added several more vintage Santas and vintage snowmen this year too.

The countdown continues!

Christmas hugs!

Let there be light!

We spent a quick 24 hours at the Aframe this weekend.
Just enough time to add some festive decorations and Christmas lights.
Santa and a few of his reindeer even found their way to the lake.
I just love the time we spend at the lake, even if it's only 24 hours.
Have a cozy and festive week ahead!

Getting ready for winter at the Aframe

We had unusually warm weather last weekend, and we spent some much needed time at the lake getting the yard tidy.
Last year, we invested in a new furnace and water heater.  This summer we had new sliders/windows replaced so that we really can enjoy our Aframe year-round.
Mother nature can really stay outside where she belongs!

It was definitely a weekend of heavy outdoor labor, but we are officially ready for cooler weather.
I even pulled out a few Christmas decorations.
 Have a wonderful weekend.
We have snow in the forecast.  Stay cozy!

Target Transformation! A fun Christmas crafting project!

I'm not ready to pull out the Christmas bins yet (Halloween wears me out) but in case you happen to be interested in future Christmas crafting projects, Target is selling these reproduction putz houses for $3.
The colors are a bit "bright" so I decided to tone it down. I removed the pipe cleaners and replaced them with my own. I also brushed the entire house with white glue and dusted it with fine glitter.

The decorating options are endless and this could even be a project that you do with your kiddos (minus the glue gun part).

I haven't had time in weeks to do any crafting, so this gave me a much needed fix. Happy Christmas crafting!

Post Christmas fun at the lake...

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Santa definitely put us on the nice list.

Since Christmas, we have been relaxing at our A-frame cottage.
Family time at the lake is the best Christmas gift EVER!!

It really doesn't get much better.
XOXO

Wishing you a very merry Christmas!

We've been out of town the last few days visiting Chris's family.
We had a wonderful time and even had an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful light display at Hines Park and visit with Santa.
I "think" all the gifts are wrapped, but I wouldn't be surprised to find one or more hidden away.

I still can't believe that tomorrow is Christmas.

It seemed to come so fast this year.
We pause to take time to thank the good Lord for all of our blessings this past year.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

Christmas hugs from the Kenward family!!

Christmas parades and outdoor ice skating adventures...

We had a busy weekend, starting with two different Christmas parades Friday night. Although I don't have any  photographic evidence, Emma's marching band played a few Christmas tunes at the Grandville parade, while Josie's dance/cheer team performed in the Greenville Christmas parade.

On Saturday, the girls and I headed to our A-frame cottage while Chris joined us later that evening.  When we arrived, we spotted a series of boats racing across the ice with special blades.  If you look closely you can see a group of people standing in the middle of the lake.  We actually watched them skating out to the center of the lake!
The girls were eager to test out their ice skates so when Chris arrived, I had him drill into the ice to confirm that it really was deep enough.  Sure enough, the ice was nearly five inches thick in front of our cottage.

Soon after, he was busy clearing off the ice and the girls were in ice skating heaven.

Although we've been dreaming of a more elaborate fireplace, it's not in our budget right now and so we found a small electric fireplace for the A-frame downstairs.  Isn't it cute?  The wooden wreath is an estate sale rescue.

Like everyone, I've been busy decorating our house for Christmas and I'll be sharing some of my favorite Christmas estate sale rescues later this week.  Christmas hugs!!

Happy Mail and a Kim K. Give-away!

Did you all have a good Thanksgiving?   It's been a wonderful week of respite and family time.  We spent several days at our A-frame cottage (more on that later this week) and when we came back home, a special box was waiting for me from Sandy (521 Lake Street).
We were partnered in Erica's (Golden Egg Vintage) Christmas in the Kitchen exchange.
I had so much fun putting together a box of treasures for Sandy.  These are a few of the things I sent her.
Sandy completely spoiled me with so many beautiful homemade treasures.
One of my favorite goodies is this teeny tiny snow globe made from a salt shaker.
Just look at all these amazing goodies!
Sandy, I'm completely smitten with everything.
Yummy treats and paper crafting supplies too! Thank you, so much!  I love kicking off Christmas with you!
And because I want to share my Christmas spirit with all of my friends, I'd like to share a Kim K. Christmas give-away!
With my love of miniatures, I've designed  a tiny Santa Christmas kitchen.  It's filled with lots of special details.  This is a give-away for the pure joy of giving back to my friends!
In order to be entered in the giveaway, just leave a comment on this blog post.  If you don't have an active blog, be sure your email address is included in your comment.  Entries close at 8:00pm EST Thursday, December 4. Merry Christmas!
