A Christmas Pixie House

I had hinted on my last blog post that I found a dollhouse for $5 at an estate sale.
No.  I certainly don't need any more mini houses.

But, Josie and I needed a craft project and at $5 I couldn't leave it behind!

It needed to be rescued.

It needed to be loved.

And I have several pixies that needed a cute Christmas dwelling.

It was a fun project and nearly all the materials, were items I already had in my never-ending supply of estate sale miniatures.

Merry "mini" Christmas!

Easter has arrived at the plantation house!

Since my last blog post, all our snow is gone and we’ve actually been enjoying spring-like temperatures!
With a very early Easter and such beautiful weather, I was inspired to pull out a few more Easter decorations.
My plantation dollhouse has officially received another holiday makeover.
A few bunnies are visiting and they've been busy redecorating for Easter.
The special Easter bunting was made by Patti (Paintin Patti) last year.

Doesn't the plantation house look extra festive?

Have a wonderful weekend, friends. Be sure to take time to play!

Merry Christmas to me! Another dollhouse!

As you know from my many posts about dollhouses, I'm avid collector and I love decorating them for the holidays as much as I love decorating my house.
I just happened to be visiting my favorite antique store last weekend and this little wooden dollhouse managed to hitch a ride home with me!
 Yes. I'm weak.
But in my defense, the price was very good.
With its red brick exterior, it looked like it was needing a Christmas holiday makeover.
At my last birthday, my mother gave me these special Victorian dollhouse dolls and made their tiny beautiful clothes.

Merry "almost" Christmas friends!  Be sure to take time and play.

Christmas at my plantation dollhouse

It's beginning to look like Christmas around my Rich toy company plantation-style dollhouse.
Colorful trees and a miniature snow storm have settled around the house.
Several reindeer are delivering gifts while Santa is on the roof waiting to deliver more presents.

Merry Christmas miniature style!

Tiny things...my Halloween dollhouse

As you know, once mid-September hits, Halloween takes center stage.
It's definitely come on with speed and determination this year.
With the gift of a pie safe this summer, I now have another spot for displaying my precious Halloween treasures.

As you can see, I decided to unpack my Halloween dollhouse this year.

Having it on top of the pie safe, keeps it out of the way of  furry paws.
I've had people ask, just how many dollhouses do you own?
This Halloween-themed one makes number 9.
I hope you find some time to play this weekend!
XOXO

Dollhouse #9

I didn't intend on bringing home another dollhouse.

Really I didn't.
But the price was right, it was in mint condition and it was full of Renewal furniture.
Most metal dollhouses are left in damp basements and rust takes over.
This 1948 T. Cohn home is in perfect condition.
Of course, this meant rearranging all my other homes to make space in my craft room.
I hope you found time to play this weekend.
XOXO

Happy mail & Easter has arrived at the plantation dollhouse!

I'm glad you all don't mind (or you graciously humor me) when I post my miniatures and dollhouses.

My plantation dollhouse has officially received another holiday makeover.  A few bunnies are visiting and they've been busy redecorating for Easter.
Doesn't the house look extra festive at night with the tiny egg lights on the roof?
The special Easter bunting was made by Patti (Paintin Patti).

She and I were paired in Viv's Easter swap and this beautiful vintage inspired bunting was included in my box.
If you haven't visited her blog, it's one of those sites that you could spend hours happily exploring.
She's so talented and I am so in love with everything she sent.  Thank you, Patti!

In case you're wondering, here are a few of the handmade things that I sent to Patti, including a few things for her own dollhouse.    Speaking of dollhouses, I also received some happy mail from Debby (Cozy Blanket).  She sent me one of her handmade mini gardens.

Aren't blogging friends the best?   I'm feeling so spoiled.  Have a wonderful weekend, friends.  Be sure to take time to play!
