My weekend finds...fan-shaped snack plates

Last Saturday, I stopped at our local mission thrift store and found another set of 4 fan-shaped snack plates for my growing collection. Yippee!

A few years ago, I found my first set of these dishes at the Allegan Antique market and was smitten with their fan-shape (they remind me of China and my sweet Josie). We tend to use them for tapas, salads and desserts. I especially enjoy getting them out during the various holidays.

The pattern is "Daisy & Button" by Anchor Hocking. Although I don't own any of the original glass cups that would have been included with the plates, I have a set of hand-painted glasses that we use on special occasions.

I've seen these fan-shaped plates priced all over the place. I was very happy to pick up these four marked at $6.

Cheers!

I do love those plates! They would be perfect for tea parties, which we are partial to. I did find in my garage, amongst all of the boxes from my parents estate, a box with the blue will dishes. I feel like I hit the jackpot!

When I saw your first photo pop up on my google dashboard, I was immediately thinking cNY. I have never seen fan shaped plates!! I learn so much from your blog. I am definately on the hunt now. Plates like this would be perfect match with our CNY table cloth. My girls have Asian fans in their dress up box and they use them all the time.

good finds! I have some similar snack plates but they are more rectangular. I have the cups to go with them too. But I have never used them. They were given to me as a gift. NOw you have me thinking, if I had more of them, I would use them for teaparties and such! so perhaps I should be keeping an eye out for them for now on!
love the painted glasses too.
I have your package just about ready to mail out.. maybe sat morning!

Your plates are gorgeous, Kim! I've never seen any of the fan shaped ones. What a deal you got! And I'm glad to hear that you enjoy using them, too. Those painted glasses are cute, and Josie is just too adorable! Oh, my mom has a set of oval shaped dessert plates and cups, that have been packed away for many years. Maybe she will save them for me:)

Oh Kim! You are so sweet to place my button on your blog. I think it is so sweet.
This post is right up my favorite alley - dishes! I think your special glasses are the most wonderful things I have ever seen in glassware. Your sweet little girl will have such memories of using them in years to come.
I will keep my eye out for your plate cups as I see them so often in our stores here.
Have a lovely rest of the week! Elizabeth

How sweet. I can totally see them at a tea party. The glasses are adorable as well, but none as cute as your cutie patootie.

Kim those are AWESOME!! I've never seen anything like them before. And so sweet that you have a little something to remind you of your time in China and of course Josie!

I love those glasses! World Market had something similar last year, but they were not nearly as cute.

I love mine...They were perfect for the girl's tea party I helped to host this summer. Mine came with cups...I was lucky I guess. But, I only have four. I hope to find more one of these days...
