A witchy make-over...

I've been keeping an eye on this lamp for weeks. I was waiting until my favorite antique/thrift store had their anniversary sale so that I could get it for less than $10.

Doesn't the lampshade resemble a witch hat?

During this time of the year, everything has the potential of becoming a Halloween craft project at my house!

I came home and immediately dug out a witch hat that I purchased last year from Target's dollar bin.

I had given it a glamorous make-over with black tulle, feathers, gilded leaves and silk flowers. The added touch was this glittered spider.

The witch hat is sitting on top of the original enclosed lampshade. Rest assured. The wattage on the bulb is very low.

I love my new thrifted lamp.

Happy Halloween!
Have a thrifty/crafty weekend.

Too cute. Someday I'd love for you to do a blog about how you organize all of your many crafts and finds. Not how you store them, exactly, but how you organize things to know where they are when you want them. Or how do you know where to put a potential project until you're ready to use it?

Cute lamp! I hit the jackpot last weekend as one of my dear friends in the neighborhood decided to get out of her antique business and scale down her scrap booking stash. She had some great things that I really wanted before, but was waiting for a mark-down. If you are patient and willing to wait, you can be rewarded!

I am so looking forward to tomorrow as we are going to a huge antique market nearby in Clinton.

Here's to finding more bargains and treasures...
