Our "quick" get-away secret...

I'm letting you in on a little secret. Although West MI got all kind of lovely snow the last few days, we actually drove 2+ hours north Friday night to Traverse City and enjoyed even MORE amazing snow. Our pictures don't even begin to do it justice. The winter landscape is just gorgeous. This was taken from the front seat of our van.

I had to teach at our northern University campus on Saturday and it was a good excuse to bring the family along. We even brought our sleds. While I was working, Chris scoped out the sledding hills with the girls.

When they picked me up later in the afternoon, we were ALL ready to go out and play again.

Winter...glad to have you back old friend.

XOXO

I wish we would at least get some good snow. We just keep getting little dustings of snow that freeze and make everything icy. I love the winter family photos.

Beautiful winter landscape photos and everyone looks so healthy and happy. I really hoped to take the girls sledding, but the little snow we received turned icy in the extreme cold. Have a great week!

Gorgeous. Wishing we had a decent snow already. It's so peaceful and lovely - until we run out in it and mess it all up! Your family looks precious.

It looks like such fun! This reminds me of the occasional winter we would have snow when our daughters (3) were young. It seems that the snow isn't coming our direction as often anymore. I'd love to be able to make some snow cream again.

It looks practically perfect in every way! :-) No sledding or building snowmen on here. We've barely had any snow.
